Father Remanded In Prison For Allegedly Raping Daughter

Durodola Kehinde, a 45-year-old man, who allegedly raped his 15-year-old daughter, has been remanded in prison, pending legal advice at Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday.

Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, the Senior Magistrate, did not accept the plea tendered by Kehinde instead she ordered that he should be remanded in Agodi prison.

She demanded that the police should reproduce the case file to the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Senior Magistrate adjourned the case until 8th October 2019 for mention.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Samod Aliu alleged that Kehinde raped his 15-year-old daughter between 2017 and 2019.

He stated that the crime is stated in the provisions of Section 357 as well as punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code of Oyo State 200.

Aliu added that the girl has been abused by her father since she was 13.
