El-Zakzaky: Shehu Sani Commends DSS For Following Court Order

Human Right Activist, Shehu Sani, has commended the Department of State Services for following the directives of the court, which called for the release of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, on health ground.

Recall that Naija News had earlier reported that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria was granted a leave to travel to India for medical treatment.

Dr Peter Afunanya, DSS Public Relations Officer, revealed that the department received the court order on Monday, he further stated that the Shiites leader and his wife will be released immediately.

“Consequently, the Service is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance.”

“Conformity with the order is in line with the Service’s avowed commitment to the Rule of Law inherent in a democracy”.

The Former Kaduna Central Senator described the compliance of DSS as a respect for the rule of law, he added that it is a way to go in an effort to preserve Nigeria democracy.

Shehu in a tweet wrote; “DSS compliance with the Court order on Sheikh El-Zakzaky and his wife is commendable.”

“Respect for the rule of law is the way to go in order to preserve this democracy.”
