2023 Presidency: No Candidate Above 50s Will Get Out Vote - Arewa Youths

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), has condemned the Revolution Now protest championed by detained Omoyele Sowore, a former Presidential candidate.

Naija News reports that AYCF President-General, Yerima Shettima condemned the protest in an interview with DAILY POST.

The Arewa Youth President, who described the RevolutionNow protest as “meaningless“, insisted that dialogue should be employed in resolving Nigeria’s challenges and not revolution.

Shettima called on the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to release Sowore, who was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

His words: “I do not agree with the calling for revolution now, I think it’s meaningless. We all can sit with the government at a round table to trash out issues affecting Nigerians. I strongly feel the call for a revolution at this period is meaningless.

“This government has failed to attend to some issues affecting Nigerians but calling for a revolution is not the answer, what we need is dialogue.

“This country doesn’t need such action at this point, we should all rally round and ensure that these issues are resolved.

“I’m one of those who criticise this government a lot because it has failed but I urge the government to tamper justice with mercy and release Sowore from detention,” the Arewa Youth President said.
