Following the move by Omoyele Sowore, the Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, to stage a #RevolutionNow protest, the Nigeria Police Force on Monday decided to barricade the entrance to the National Stadium.

The Area Commander, Area C, ACP Tijani Fatai, while speaking with NAN stated that the security operatives were there to stop any form of protests at the stadium.

Fatai noted that they were not at the Stadium to protect the protesters, he advised the protesters in front of the National Stadium gate to stay off.

The DCP Operations in Lagos State command, Mr Mohammed Ali, claimed that the protesters failed to obtain permits to carry out the movement.

“Their planned protest is unlawful. They did not obtain permission for the protest. If they say they have the permission, let them show it.”

“Anyone that foment trouble will be dealt with according to the law,” Ali said.
