Nigerian Taxify Driver Killed In South Africa

The Nigerian Union in South Africa (NUSA) says a Nigerian identified simply as Benjamin Okoronkwo has on Saturday shot to his death by unknown assailants in Johannesburg, the South Africa capital.

Naija News reports that the untimely death of the Taxify driver Okoronkwo who hails from Okposi, in the Ohaozara local government area in Ebonyi state, was made known in a statement by the national publicity secretary, NUSA, Ikele Odefa.

The Taxify Driver was murdered at about 3:00 am on Saturday, August 3, in his car which he uses to operate as a Taxify (Bolt) driver.

The officials of NUSA have already visited the scene of the ugly incident and subsequently opened a case of murder at Mofartview police station in Johannesburg.

Odefa noted that the deceased is survived by two children and a wife.

He said the union is calling on the law enforcement agencies in the country to investigate his murder and prosecuted his murderers.

The death of the Taxify driver comes in the midst of the continued attacks against Nigerians in South Africa
