1. Boko Haram: President Buhari Reacts To Killing Of Over 60 Mourners In Borno

Following the recent attack on mourners at a funeral procession in Borno State, which saw over 60 people dead, the action has been condemned by President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Buhari in a statement through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, stated that the President had received assurance from the armed forces that the terrorists who committed the killings would be dealt with.

2. Edo Assembly Crisis: Obaseki Refuses To Issue Fresh Proclamation

Governor Godwin Obaseki on Monday stated that he would not issue fresh proclamation letter for the inauguration of the 7th Edo State House of Assembly.

He made this known while reacting to a report that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed him to issue a fresh proclamation.

3. What Dino Melaye Said About Ministerial Screening

Senator representing the Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye has criticised the screening of ministerial nominees with the non-submission of portfolios.

The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has disclosed that its embattled leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will soon make a return to Nigeria.

The group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful said Kanu will return to Nigeria to mobilise support for the actualization of Biafra as part of his current tour of some countries where he is canvassing support for the group’s secessionist cause.

6. Atiku vs Buhari: INEC Refuses To Produce Witnesses Against PDP

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has informed the Presidential Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja, the nation’s capital that it will not call any witness in defence of the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party and its 2019 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

7. Court Adjourns El-zakzaky’s Bail Application Till August 5

The Kaduna State High Court has adjourned his judgement on the application filed by Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, seeking bail from detention.
