Zamfara: Probe Yari’s Administration, APC Chieftains Tells Matawalle
Some chieftains of the Zamfara State All Progressives Congress (APC) have called on Governor Bello Matawalle to probe the administration of his predecessor, Abdulaziz Yari.
The group at a meeting in Gusau on Saturday stated that the administration of Yari should be probe over its handling of the security challenges and finances of the state.
A factional Chairman of the Zamfara State APC, Alhaji Sirajo Maikatako, also backed moves by Governor Matawalle to dialogue with bandits.
“We are calling on the state governor, to as matter of urgency, probe Abdulaziz Yari, the immediate past governor of the state”, NAN quoted him as saying.
“It is the duty of the state governor to investigate the past administration with a view to recovering all the funds looted from the state treasury.”
Rabiu Suleman, who represented former Deputy Governor Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala, admitted that the past administration showed little concern over killings in Zamfara State.
“Supporting of this government is very necessary considering its commitments toward bringing lasting peace to the state,” he said.
