Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila on Thursday named heads of the house standing committees. Naija News understands that 13 additional committees have been set up, increasing the number from 96 to 109.
Nigerian Senate President, Mr. Ahmed Lawan has rejected the offer of his national party to invite them in case of any crisis between him and any senator. The president who made his decision known to the leadership of the party led by Abba Dalori visited him at his office in Abuja on Monday.
The Nigeria Senate on Tuesday has postponed its annual recess scheduled to begin on Friday to screen individuals President Muhammadu Buhari nominated for ministerial positions. Naija News recalls that the Senate had earlier given Buhari till Friday to submit the list of ministerial nominees for screening, failure of which the red chamber will proceed on its two-month annual recess.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila has announced that the green House would commence electronic voting during plenary on July 3. Gbajabiamila made the announcement at the commencement of plenary today after two weeks of recess by members.
Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan has denied every claim that there is the jumbo salary for National Assembly members as some quarters had speculated. This was made known today by Lawan when he was paid a courtesy visit in his office by members of the Senators’ Forum.
