Imo: INEC Issues Certificate Of Return To Senator Uwajumogu

The Senator-elect, Imo North Senatorial District, Benjamin Uwajumogu, has been issued Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Senator Uwajumogu was on Thursday issued the certificate at about 4 p.m. at INEC Headquarters in Abuja.

Uwajumogu while speaking with journalist commended the judiciary for standing by the truth.

The Senator-elect also commended INEC for obeying court order, which directed that he should be issued the certificate.

He pledged to rededicate himself to serving Imo North better than he did in the 8th senate.

He commended the people of his constituency for not taking laws into their hands during their trying times.

Recall that Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had ordered the electoral body to immediately issue a Certificate of Return to the Uwajumogu.

Uwajumogu had approached the court seeking for an order to compel the commission to issue him the certificate after INEC failed to declare him the winner over an allegation of irregularities.
