The court trial of Senator Elisha Abbo has once again been postponed until 20th August 2019.

Naija News learnt that the postponement of the trial was approved after the prosecuting counsel appealed to the court for failure to provide enough evidence in which they will rely on to prosecute the case.

According to the prosecuting counsel, the forensic analysis has to be conducted on the CCTV video evidence in line with evidence act. He also said that they are being careful not to run foul of the law.

The presiding magistrate, Abdullahi Ilellah, who gave the order on Monday at the resumed hearing of the case also warned against the further adjournment of the case thereby urging the prosecution counsel to speed up the investigation and serve the defendant all necessary materials.

Naija News recalls that Senator Elisha Abbo who hails from Adamawa in on trial for allegedly assaulting a woman in Abuja. an offence that that borders on criminal force and assault which is contrary to section 263 and 264 of the penal code of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
