Following the open letter recently written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to President Muhammadu Buhari, the presidency has condemned him, insinuating that he is not a democrat.
Obasanjo in the open letter had called the attention of President Buhari to the insecurity in Nigerian and how to overcome the crisis.
He also called for a meeting of various ethnic groups in the country to deliberate on how to live peacefully with one another, Naija News recalls.
Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, in his reaction stated that those aggrieved with the present structure of Nigeria should approach the National Assembly.
While speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, he said: “To call for a national conference when there is a sitting Parliament in place, whoever is making that call is not a democrat.”
Shehu also stated that the Buhari led-administration is on top of the security situation in the country.
