1. President Buhari Makes Fresh Appointment

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ahmed Bolaji Nagode as the new Director-General of National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN). The appointment was made known in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Power dated July 18, 2019, with reference No FMP/7858/I/126.

2. Atiku VS Buhari: Tribunal Rejects PDP’s Request

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on Friday rejected the request made by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his party, for more time to conclude their case. Naija News understands that PDP’s lawyer, Chris Uche had asked for more time from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to conclude their case; a request that the election tribunal denied on Friday.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has finally spoken on the crises rocking the Edo State House of Assembly. 4. Atiku Vs Buhari: PDP Begs Presidential Election Tribunal For More Time

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has appealed to the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal for more time to close their case. Naija News reports that today (Friday) is the last day of the 10 days given to the duo to conclude their case at the tribunal.

5. Fear Grips Passengers In Lagos Airport As Man Climbs Plane Engine (Video)

There was serious panic among passengers on board a Port Harcourt-bound plane after an unidentified man prevented an aircraft from leaving Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos. Otto Orondaam, the founder of Slum2School Africa, shared a video where the man could be seen to have made his way from the bush towards the plane which was already taxing on the runway.

Senator Danjuma Goje (APC-Gombe Central) has revealed reasons by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government dropped corruptions charged against him. In a statement to newsmen by his counsel, Paul Erokoro (SAN), the former Governor of Gombe State claimed that the charges had become more of persecution than prosecution.

8. Boko Haram Kills Aid Worker In Borno Ambush

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have killed a worker of Action Against Hunger, a humanitarian Organisation, in Damasak, Borno State. A statement by the Action Against Hunger disclosed that its members were attacked by terrorists while heading to Damasak.

9. Algeria Emerge 2019 AFCON Champions

The Desert Foxes of Algeria have been crowned champions of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after defeating Senegal 1-0. Naija News reports that a lone goal from Baghdad Bounedjah in the 2nd minute was enough for the North African country.

Nigerians have subjected Ace Nigerian singer and songwriter, Innocent Idibia popularly known by his stage name as 2face or 2Baba, after endorsing a provoking post criticizing the holy bible.
