Mass Protest Rocks Benin Over Reps’ Decision On Edo Assembly Crisis [PHOTOS]



A massive protest was today held at the Oba Ovboramwen king square in Benin over the directive given by the House of Representatives to Governor Godwin Obaseki to issue a fresh proclamation of the state’s House of Assembly

The protesters who took to the streets insisted that the House of Reps does not have the right to give such orders.

They argued that the Federal High Court sitting in Benin had given an existing interlocutory injunction from the which barred the Inspector-General of Police, the Department of State Services, DSS, APC NWC or their agents from disrupting Edo Assembly’s proceedings.
