President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, July 16, approved the immediate implementation of the N30,000 new national minimum wage. Chief Richard Egbule, the Chairman of the National Salaries, Income, and Wages Commission, made this known while addressing a news conference on the implementation of the new national minimum wage earlier today, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

2. Senate President Appoints Media Aide, Four Others

Senate President Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday approved the appointment of Ola Awoniyi as his new Special Adviser on Media. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mohammed Isa, Lawan also appointed Karage Mamman as his Deputy Chief of Staff.

3. Asset Declaration: Presidency Praises Governor Seyi Makinde

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Enugu State, during the National Assembly election for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Mr. Nelson Maduka Arum, prays to withdraw his petition from the tribunal. The APC candidate had dragged Hon, Offor Chukwuegbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the Tribunal, seeking the nullification of his victory.

5. Osun Gov’ship Election: Oyetola Berates Adeleke

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has lambasted the family of Senator Ademola Adeleke for claiming the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the state governorship election. Naija News reports that the Supreme Court had declared All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyetola, as the real winner of the controversial governorship election.
