Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has berated those he described as “Abuja politicians” for trying to take over activities of the State House of Assembly.

Naija News reported that the House of Representatives on Tuesday resolved to look into the crisis rocking the State House of Assembly.

Recalls that the Edo State Assembly has been in crisis, which led to the swearing-in of only nine out of 24 members-elect.

This has also led to a war of words between the camp of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and Obaseki.

The House of Reps took the decision following a motion of urgent national importance sponsored by three members – Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, Peter Akpatason and Johnson Oghuma.

Speaking at a well-attended rally in Bénin City, Obaseki said such individuals to come and take over activities of the Assembly.

He wondered what happened to some politicians that joined in the struggle to entrench ‘Let the people lead’ mantra.

The governor noted that the state is in safe hands with himself, Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu and Secretary to State Government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie.

According to Obaseki, the tension was to distract him but he would remain focus on the delivery of democracy dividends.
