Breaking: Buhari Meet Baru, Kyari In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with Maikanti Baru and Melee Kolo Kyari behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Naija News reports that Baru is the immediate past Director General of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), while Kyari is his successor.

The duo who arrived at the Villa around 11:05 am went into a closed-door meeting with Buhari at around 11.30am.

Baru had retired from the service of the corporation on July 7 after reaching the statutory 60 years retirement age.

Mr Kyari comes to the job as the 19th GMD of the NNPC with a rich profile of professional and service credentials.

Until his appointment, Mr Kyari was Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division of the NNPC.

He was also the Nigerian National Representative at the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) since 2018.
