1. Finally, President Buhari Signs AfCFTA Agreement

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

President Buhari assented to the AfCFTA in Niamey, the capital of Niger Republic.

This places Nigeria as the 53rd state on the continent to append its signature to the document.

2. Police Set To Arraign Senator Elisha Abbo Over Assault

The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign Senator Elisha Abbo (PDP-Adamawa North) this week for allegedly assaulting a nursing mother at a sex toy shop.

Naija News recalls that Abbo, Nigeria’s youngest Senator, was caught on CCTV beating up a woman following a brief argument.

3. Edo 2020: Again, Obaseki Speaks On Rift With Oshiomhole

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has dismissed reports of having a rift with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole.

Speaking to newsmen on Saturday at the annual convention of the Usagbe Club of Nigeria, Obaseki said the reports of a rift are just the imagination of some individuals.

4. Buhari Yet To Submit Ministerial List As Senate Recess Draws Near

President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to send the list of his ‘Next Level’ cabinet to the National Assembly despite the Senate annual recess drawing nearer.

Indications have emerged that Senators will proceed on their recess on July 26 even if the president fails to submit the list.

5. El-Rufai Reveals Difference Between South And Northern Nigeria

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has described Northern Nigeria as backward, less educated and unhealthy North.

Speaking in Kaduna on Saturday at a summit, the governor said the north also has the highest number of poor people in the world.

6. Oshiomhole, Magu Met In Secret To Eliminate, Jail Me- Okorocha ‘Cries’ Before Court

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted a motion ex parte barring the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Department State Services (DSS) and other security agencies from investigating or arresting the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.

Naija News reports that prior to the ruling of Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Okorocha told the court that he got information from a top detective at the EFCC that the acting Chairman of the commission, Ibrahim Magu, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, were holding secret meetings on how to eliminate or imprison him.

Boss Mustapha, has expressed delight over his reappointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has stated that it is investigating allegations against the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
