Governorship aspirants who are vying for the slot of being the official candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kogi state governorship election on Monday opposed the choice of indirect primary by the party.

Naija News reports that the party had resolved to adopt indirect primary to pick its candidate for the November governorship election in Kogi State.

Recall that the decision was taken at the National Working Committee meeting which held on Friday at the National Secretariat of the party.

Naija News also recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire had fixed November 2 for the governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

However, the electoral umpire has rescheduled the election to hold on the 16th of November.

In preparation for the event, INEC has recently released a timetable to guide the activities of the election, before, during and even after the much-anticipated elections in the respective states.
