Police Arrest Three For Molesting Teenager In Niger State

Three suspects have been arrested by the Niger State Police Command, following a reported gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in the Maitumbi area of Minna.

According to Northern City News, the suspects Abdulrahman Ahmed, 19; Isyaku Umar, 20; and Adamu Sani, 20, were apprehended by a team of policemen following a tip-off by residents.

The report had it that the suspects abducted the teenager and took turns to molest her.

A further report revealed that the teenager who was on an errand was ambushed by the gang, and held her captive for the duration of the assault.

The mother of the victim, Amina Abubakar, reported the matter to the police, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

The spokesperson of the command, Mohammad Abubakar, who confirmed the incident stated that the suspects had confessed to the crime and were waiting for their day in court.
