1. 2019 Election: Nigerians Have Spoken And We Will Not Disappoint – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja said results of 2019 elections clearly reflect the interest of Nigerians, and having received the mandate for a second term, he will not disappoint the people.

President Buhari, said this while playing host to the Buhari Support Group Centre led by the Director-General, Alhaji Umaru Dembo, at the State House.

2. Senate Announces Principal Officers For Ninth Assembly

Senate President Ahmed Lawan has on Tuesday announced the names of the eight principal officers for the Nigerian Senate in the 9th National Assembly.

This follows the letters received by the Senate President from the National Chairmen of both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and the major opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Uche Secondus.

3. EFCC vs Saraki: Atiku Blows Hot, Reveals What He Will Do

Former Vice President Alh. Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the current saga between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Dr. Bukola Saraki, president of the 8th Senate.

Reacting to the saga, Atiku, the 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP in a statement made available to Naija News on Tuesday, said there is a difference between prosecution and persecution.

4. Buhari Has Not Sent Ministerial List To National Assembly – Presidency

The Presidency has denied earlier reports which claimed President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, sent the list of ministers to the National Assembly.

However, in his reaction to the development, Mallam Shehu denied any knowledge about the ministerial list sent to the lawmakers on Tuesday.

5. Fayose Re-Arraigned In Court, Granted Bail, Permission To Travel Out

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re-arraigned the embattled former Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose before a Federal High Court in Lagos under Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke

Naija News understands that the former governor and PDP Chieftain was first arraigned last October 22 on an 11-count charge of receiving and keeping N1.2billion and $5million stolen funds from the office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) contrary to the Money Laundering Act.

Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde has revealed how the previous government has technically left the state bankrupt.

According to Mr Seyi, his administration is still looking at ways to salvage the situation and run the government.

7. Kidnapped Buhari In-Law Regains Freedom

President Muhammadu Buhari‘s in-law, Musa Umar has become one of the lucky people to return after several weeks of kidnap.

Naija News recalls Umar who is also a traditional ruler in Daura, known as Magajin Garin Daura was kidnapped by four unidentified gunmen who stormed his residence on a fateful Wednesday evening (1st May 2019).

8. Fire Razes Bayelsa Radio Station

An inferno has on Tuesday razed down the Bayelsa State-owned radio station, Bayelsa Radio.

Naija News gathers that the fire destroyed a critical section of the station, which is located along Azikoro Road, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

9. National Assembly Building Not Well Maintained – Gbajabiamila

Femi Gbajabiamila, the speaker of the House of Representatives, has stated that the National Assembly Complex was “almost collapsing.”

Gbajabiamila stated this while been visited by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, in Abuja on Monday.

10. Soyinka Reveals What Ruga Settlements Will Do To Nigeria

Social critic, Prof Wole Soyinka has warned the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration against the establishment of Ruga settlements for herdsmen across Nigeria.

Speaking on Tuesday at the launch of the United Nations’ Solutions 17 SDG programme, Soyinka stated that the establishment of such settlements would cause an explosion if not handled well.
