Presidential tribunal delivers judgment on Buhari's inauguration

The presidential election tribunal sitting in Abuja has rejected the appeal of  PDP and its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to re-present and argue a motion by the All Progressives Congress (APC), seeking the dismissal of the petition.

Naija News learnt that PDP and Atiku had earlier failed to respond to the motion by the APC, which was first raised on June 10, 2019.

It was that ruling that the petitioners prayed the court to set aside and allow them to formally respond to the motion, a request the tribunal rejected in a ruling on Wednesday.

The tribunal also adopted the schedule of proceedings agreed by parties on Monday and adjourned till Thursday for the commencement of formal trial – hearing of the petition.

Meanwhile, before the formal adjournment, the tribunal also gave approval for the Peoples Democratic party to present their first set of witnesses on Thursday.
