Ruga Settlement: Shehu Sani Reveals Those To Determine FG’s Plan

The former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, while speaking on the plan of the Federal Government to organize Ruga settlements, took time out to reveal people who will determine the plan of FG.

Naija News had earlier reported that the Federal Government plans to create the Ruga Settlements to address the clashes between farmers and herders in Nigeria.

Sani who took to his Twitter account to address the development stated that State Governors and the Federal Government has no right to decide and establish Ruga in communities.

He stated that the decision should be taken by the communities involved.

“To establish Ruga in a hostile environment is like throwing Butter into a Pan of Hot oil.”

“The viability of Ruga is dependent on its acceptance by the host communities and not by FG’s unilateralism or by its approval or objections by the state Governors.”

However, Niger State government in a statement on Monday stated that Northern states have the potentials to accommodate the federal government’s Ruga settlement plan.
