President Muhammadu Buhari has constituted the Federal Government delegation to the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) holding in Egypt. Buhari selected Senate President Ahmed Lawan to led the delegation the competition.
Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan has denied every claim that there is the jumbo salary for National Assembly members as some quarters had speculated. This was made known today by Lawan when he was paid a courtesy visit in his office by members of the Senators’ Forum.
The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan has subtly backed the call of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for budgetary provision for State Commissioner of Police, across the 36 states of the federation. He made his position known on Tuesday when the IGP paid him a courtesy visit.
A suit filed against the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has been dismissed by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja. Naija News recalls a man identified as Phillip Undie, had dragged Gbajabiamila before the court on May 21, 2019, seeking an order to sack him as a member of the House of Representatives and also stop him from contesting the leadership of the green chamber.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence in the 9th House of Representatives under the leadership of Femi Gbajabiamila. Naija News reports that the party said that the leadership of Gbajabiamila would support critical legislative intervention aimed at driving developmental, social and empowerment programmes in the country.
