1. President Buhari, Senate President Meet In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, met with the Senate president President, Ahmed Lawan at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Naija News understands that the Buhari walked the Senate President into a closed-door meeting after Lawan arrived the forecourt of the State House around 3.25pm.

2. Court Strikes Out Certificate Fraud Case Against AbdulRazaq

Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin, the state capital on Wednesday took a decision when it struck out the certificate forgery case filed against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Naija News understands that the court dismissed the case after the claimant insisted he was withdrawing the case.

3. Zamfara State: We Will Contest Supreme Court Ruling – APC

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has said that it would challenge the Supreme Court decision on the party and its candidates in the state.

The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Lawali Liman, made the disclosure at a press briefing held at the party’s state Secretariat in Gusau, on Wednesday.

4. Lawan Backs IGP On Separate Budget For Police

The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan has subtly backed the call of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for budgetary provision for State Commissioner of Police, across the 36 states of the federation.

He made his position known on Tuesday when the IGP paid him a courtesy visit.

5. Boko Haram Kills 20 Farmers In Fresh Attack On Borno Town

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed 20 farmers, in a fresh attack on Ngamgam settlement about 50km east of Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area, Borno state.

The farmers were said to have been attacked on their farms.

6. I Left No Debt In Zamfara State – Former Gov. Yari

The former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has claimed that he left no debt or liability for the new governor of the state, Bello Matawalle.

Yari stated this while speaking at a news conference organised at the All Progressives Congress state Secretariat in Gusau on Wednesday.

7. 5 Persons Killed, Houses Burnt, Several Injured In Fresh Taraba Crisis

A fresh crisis which broke out on Tuesday between the Tiv and Jukuns in Rafinkada Village of Wukari local government area of Taraba state has left five persons dead and several houses burnt.

Naija News gathered the development was confirmed by Mr. Daniel Adidas, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Council in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jalingo.

8. Gunmen Kidnap Commercial Travellers Along Akure-Ado Road

Yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Tuesday, attacked and kidnapped 28 travellers along the Ado-Akure highway in Ondo State.

Reports by residents of the area have it that the travellers were occupying two commercial vehicles, an 18-seater bus and the other a 9-seater vehicle with its driver.

9. Senator Amosun Clarifies Importing 1,000 AK47 Rifles, Other Weapons

The Senator representing the Ogun Central district of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, has denied the illegal importation of Ak47 assault rifles and ammunition into Nigeria and handing them over to the police towards the end of his administration.

There had been reports that the former governor of Ogun State, imported, 1,000 AK47 assault guns and two million rounds of ammunition.

10. What I Said About Kidnapping In Nigeria – Osinbajo

The presidency has reacted to the comments going around about the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo‘s purported statement about Kidnapping in Nigeria.
