2023: Nigeria Doesn't Need Osinbajo, Tinubu, Fayemi - OPC Declares, Reveals What Country Needs

Fulanis living in the South West region of Nigeria were called on, on Wednesday, by the Odua Peoples Congress, to reveal the criminal elements terrorizing the region among them.

Adesina Akinpelu, the National Publicity Secretary of the group, stated this while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday.

“All the 30 self-determination groups in Yorubaland are ready to work for the emancipation and protection of their land”.

He also called on the governors in the region to immediately summon a meeting of leaders of all determination groups in the region, in order to find a solution to the problem of insecurity ravaging Yorubaland.

In his statement, he stated that the leaders should be called on to brainstorm on how to tackle the killings and kidnappings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in different parts of Yorubaland without using the guns”.

Akinpelu called for unity among the Yoruba people for the problem of insecurity in the region to be effectively tackled, he noted everyone must work together to tackle the menace.

He added the invaders were able to enter the Yorubaland because there is no unity among Yoruba political leaders, traditional rulers and self-determination groups.

He claimed that there are over 30 self-determination groups in the region, with each working without collaboration.

“We are working hard to ensure the unification of OPC. Leaders of the factions are already meeting to work out the modalities. Very soon, we will reach out to Gani Adams. We expected him to do that, being the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.”

“He is writing letters to South West governors over the security of the region without carrying other self-determination groups along. There are about 30 groups and we are all ready to work for the emancipation and protection of our land”.
