Buhari: Fani-Kayode Makes Shocking Revelation About New NNPC GMD

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has clarified insinuations that the new GMD of the NNPC was related to President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Naija News had reported that Buhari appointed Mr Mele Kolo Kyari as the new NNPC boss that will take over from Dr Maikanti Baru.

The appointment takes effect from July 7, 2019.

Mele’s appointment drew mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media, with some accusing the president of appointing a relation to his Chief of Staff.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode assured that Mele Kyari is not a relation of Abba Kyari.

He wrote: “We must be factual in our criticism otherwise it erodes our credibility.

“It is NOT true to say that Mele Kyari, the new GMD of NNPC, is a relative of Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to Buhari.

“I have known Abba for 40 yrs and I assure you that Mele is not a member of his family.”
