2023: APC Inaugurates Screening Committees Today

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has zoned the vacant National Secretary position of the party to the North-East.

This is following the resignation Mai Mala Buni to become the governor of Yobe State.

Naija News recalls that Victor Giadom, the Deputy National Secretary of the party, acted as the National Secretary.

A source told The Punch that Yobe state stakeholders, where the former National Secretary hails from, are yet to meet to decide on who will replace Mai Mala Buni.

It was however gathered that Waziri Bulama, Kashim Imam, and a former interim National Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Tijani Tumsah, are interested.

The source said: “The position is zoned to the North-East and we expect leaders from the zone to meet very soon and come up with their choice.

“Since the Deputy National Auditor is from Borno, the National Secretary would have to come from Yobe.

“Two national officers cannot come from one state and leave the other without any.”
