Kano Governor-elect Names 65 Persons As Members Of Transition Committee (Full List)

The Supreme Court has confirmed Engineer Abba Kabir-Yusuf as the authentic governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano state.

The Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour led panel dismissed the appeal of an aspirant for the PDP’s governorship ticket, Ibrahim Ali-Amin.

The Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal in Kaduna which held that Yusuf was not joined as a party in the suit by Ali-Amin.

Naija News reports that Ali-Amin had challenged the nomination of Kabir-Yusuf at a Federal High Court in Kano.

He argued the PDP failed to conduct a proper primary in October 2018.

Delivering judgement, the High Court ordered that fresh primary election should be conducted by the PDP.

However, the Appeal Court, while striking out the ruling of the High Court, held that Yusuf was not joined in the suit.
