Sanusi Lamido: Kano Govt Rejects Court Judgment, Reveals Next Line Of Action

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has restrained Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission with the Attorney General from acting on the interim report of investigation in respect of petition of financial misappropriation against Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Obiora Atuegwu Egwuatu gave the order on Tuesday in a motion Exparte filed by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II dated June 7th against Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Governor of Kano and the state Attorney General.

This is coming after the commission made repeated insistence on probing Sanusi over a case of mis-spent 3.4 billion under his administration as Emir, Naija News reports.

Supporting the court order on the motion exparte was an affidavit sworn to by Dan Buran Kano and Chief of Staff to the Emir, Muhammad Manir Sanusi.

In the order granted on Tuesday, Justice Obiora Atuegwu Egwuatu directed service of the restraining order on the respondents (Defendants) in the suit through publication in the Daily Trust or on the Attorney General of Kano state.

The Judge then adjourned to June 28th, 2019 for the hearing of the motion on notice.
