Fuel Subsidy: Falana Reacts As NLC Plans To Embark On Nationwide Strike

Femi Falana SAN, in his recent statement stated that states ruled by the All Progressives Congress, are not fighting against corruption.

He noted that only Kano State has an agency structured against corruption hence other states controlled by APC does not have the ability to constitute a formal structure to fight corruption.

The human right activist stated this in Kano, on Tuesday while delivering a keynote paper at a two-day stakeholders’ dialogue on corruption in Nigeria.

“Only Kano State among all the 20 APC controlled states and indeed in the entire country has been able to establish Anti-Corruption Commission as an agency to fight corruption at the state level.”

“But if we are to fight corruption effectively as a country, the job shouldn’t be only that of the Federal Government.”

“Even at the federal level too, Federal Government has too much control over EFCC and ICPC such that they are selective in their probes.”

He also charged the government to be more concerned about wealth creation rather than pursuing corruption across the country.”
