1. Why Buhari Must Consult Us Before Appointing Ministers – APC Chairmen

State Chairmen of the All Progress Congress (APC) have urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consult them before constituting his cabinet.

They made this known during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja.

2. Atiku Speaks on Leading Protest Against Buhari, INEC

The presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the last election, Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday debunked claims that he was planning to protest against the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).

Naija News reports that the former vice president made his rebuttal in a Tweet he posted of the microblogging site, Twitter.

3. Adeleke Vs Oyetola: Supreme Court Fixes Date To Deliver Judgement

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has fixed Monday, June 16, to deliver judgement in the appeal filed by Ademola Adeleke against the election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State.

The date to deliver ruling was sent to parties involved by the Registry of the Supreme Court.

4. 2023 Presidency: Why Buhari, APC Should Give South-West Ticket – Lawan

Senate President Ahmed Lawan has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone its 2023 presidential ticket to the South-west.

The newly elected Senate President made this known while speaking to newsmen on Saturday in Yola, Adamawa.

5. Gorilla: Ganduje Orders Probe Of Kano Zoo’s Missing N6.8m

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed the Kano State Anti-Graft agency to investigate the missing N6.8 million allegedly swallowed by a Gorilla from the State Zoological Gardens.

Naija News had reported that a gorilla was alleged to have swallowed the sum of N6.8 million generated from tourists who visited the zoo during the Eid celebrations.

6. 34 killed, Houses Burnt In Fresh Zamfara Attack

At least 34 people have been killed after armed bandits attacked three villages in the Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara state.

Naija News understands that the villages that were affected on Friday, June 14, are; Gidan Wawo-Katuru, Tungar Kaho-Galadi and Kyalido-Katuru.

7. Buhari Approves N208bn For Nigerian Universities

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of N208 billion for the upgrade of Nigerian federal universities.

8. Atiku vs Buhari: Trouble As EU Denies INEC Server

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) on Saturday said it was unaware of any server used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the conduct of 2019 presidential election.

9. Election Tribunal: Uche Nwosu’s Party Withdraws Petition Against PDP’s Ihedioha

The Action Alliance (AA) in Imo State has withdrawn its petition at the election tribunal challenging the election of Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

The National Chairman of the party, Kenneth Udeze, made this known in a statement to newsmen.

10. NDA Releases Names Of Shortlisted Applicants For 2019 Recruitment

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has released names of applicants who participated in the Screening Test held on June 8, 2019.

In a statement by the NDA Academy Registrar, Brig. Gen. I. M. Jallo, the candidates are to appear for an interview before the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) from June 22 to August 10, 2019.
