Sixth Assembly: Abubakar Sadiq Emerges Gombe Speaker

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim, representing Yamaltu Deba West, has been elected as the Speaker for the sixth Assembly of the Gombe State House of Assembly.

Ibrahim was nominated for the post by Musa Buba, (APC Balanga constituency) and seconded by Abdullahi Abubakar of Akko West constituency.

Shuaibu Adamu Haruna, representing the Kwami West constituency, also emerged the deputy speaker.

He was nominated by Mustapha Usman (Gombe South constituency) and was seconded by Abdulkareem Nasiru, (Dukku North constituency).

The Speaker after the swearing-in said, “We will carry out our duty with probity and integrity. I understand that I’m first amongst equals. Gombe is facing several challenges such as lack of water supply, healthcare.”

“We will not let the people down. We look forward to getting correspondences,” he noted.
