Earlier today, Nigerians woke up to the sad news that one of Nollywood’s most prolific actors, Fasasi Olabanke died this morning.

This is not the first time this year that we are receiving such shocking news.

Here are the list and photos of Nollywood actors who have died this year, so far.

On Thursday, January 3, Nigerians woke up to receive the sad news that Gbenga ‘Burger’ Akintunde died after visiting the hospital to complain of malaria, he died at the age of 47.

Popularly known as ‘I show Larry’, Adewale Olanrewaju died on Monday, January 21 at the age of 36. The actor was also a movie producer.

On Monday, February 4, Nigerians woke up to the news that Funmilayo ‘Ijewuru’ Ogunsola had passed away in Ibadan at the age of 58. She was a popular actress and was married to the late movie star, Ishola ‘I show Pepper’ Ogunsola.

Alfred Rotimi Popoola died on Thursday, February 27 in Abeokuta, Ogun state, at the age of 51.

Prince Dammy Eke died on April 28 at the age 41. He was said to have slumped and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

On Tuesday, May 7, Adio Majester passed away in the intensive care of an undisclosed hospital. He died at age 50. He featured lots of movies and a number of stage plays in his career as an actor.

On May 11, Henry Okoro was involved in a fatal accident and died following injuries sustained. He was an actor, director, and Producer. He died at 36

 

Eddie Ugboma died on May 11 after an undisclosed sickness. He died at 78
