APC Holds Majority In The 9th National Assembly

The ninth National Assembly has been inaugurated on June 11, 2019, and the elected lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly are settling down to business.

The upper legislative chamber has a total of 109 seats with 3 Senators from each of the 36 states and one from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The ruling All Progressives Congress, has the majority of lawmakers in the Senate, the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 44 senators while the Young Peoples Party (YPP) has one lawmaker.

Naija News reports as at the time of filing this report, the Imo North senatorial election is pending and a supplementary election is expected to be conducted in the zone.
