Indications have emerged of tension in the camp of the presidency over the weightiness of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar‘s petition against the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku are challenging the declaration of Buhari as the winner of the 2019 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Sources have revealed that they are concerns in the Buhari camp over factual evidence that exposed the inconsistencies of INEC.

A video posted by 247ureports allegedly shows the manner the presidential election was rigged in favour of Muhammadu Buhari.

The clip shows the extent to which normal voting did not occur in many of the northeast state – where the Boko Haram terrorists were operating.

A source also told 247ureports that many of the figures relied upon by the INEC Chairman to announce the result of the Presidential elections contradict INEC’s own data.

“There is a need for concern”, says a source who also noted that Atiku’s case is “watertight”.

The source claims INEC and the APC did a sloppy job. “They left too many trails”.

According to the source, Atiku’s petition has all the facts needed to win the case without much argument. And, the “folks at the presidency know this”.

The former Vice President is said to not be focused much on the tribunal case at this stage.

He is said to be awaiting the Supreme Court – where he is confident of victory.
