9th National Assembly: Ndume Arrives NASS For Inauguration/Election

The preferred candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Senate President of the 9th National Assembly, Senator Ali Ndume (APC-Borno South) have arrived the assembly complex for inauguration and election.

The lawmaker arrived at the premises of the federal parliament at about 7:20 am on Tuesday.

After exchanging pleasantries with some people on arrival, Ndume went straight to the mosque within the premises.

Also at the Assembly complex is the immediate past governor of Imo state and Senator-elect of Imo West, Rochas Okorocha.

It was however not clear if he had been cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take part in the inauguration.

Naija News recalls that the PDP on Monday urged its members to back Senator Ali Ndume and Umar Bago for Senate Presidency and Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively.

The APC had in a meeting also backed Ahmed Lawan for Senate president and Femi Gbajabiamila for Speaker.
