Umtiti Rejects Arsenal

Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has ruled himself out of a move to join Unai Emery’s side.

The 25-year-old was thought to be one of Emery’s number one targets as he looks to shore up his defence ahead of next season.

But in an interview with RTL France Umtiti said: “I have a contract, I feel happy in Barcelona. I had a complicated season, but I will still be at Barcelona next season.”

Arsenal Make Approach For Fiorentina Star

Europa League finalist Arsenal have made an approach for Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout, according to L’Equipe.

The Frenchman, who joined Italian side Fiorentina from Aston Villa, has impressed in the 33 Serie A fixtures he featured in last season and is seen as a potential Aaron Ramsey replacement.

Arsenal Face Competition For Claude-Maurice

Arsenal will face competition in the race to sign Lorient ace Alexis Claude-Maurice.

The Gunners have been joined by Ligue 1 outfits Lyon, Monaco and Lille in chasing the 21-year-old striker, according to French media.

Arsenal had submitted bids of around £8million for the Frenchman, with Lorient demanding more.

Borussia Monchengladbach and West Ham have also joined the race.
