AFCON 2019: Super Eagles Final Squad Released (See Full List)

Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr has announced his final 23-man squad list for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The German disclosed his squad after the Super Eagles friendly draw against Zimbabwe in Asaba, Delta State.

The team will depart for Egypt on Sunday, 9th June to set up a final training camp in the city of Ismailia.

Mikel Obi Reaffirms Commitment To Super Eagles

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has restated his commitment to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The former Chelsea midfielder said his return to international football in the friendly against Zimbabwe was in accord with the discussion he had with coach Gernot Rohr.

“I am still very much motivated and if I am not I won’t have come to the camp,” he told the media after Saturday’s match in Asaba.

“I told the coach that I would return to the Eagles when I am ready I will come back and when I come back I will give able to give 100 per cent.

“The team has been fantastic until now because of the way they have been playing and I have come to offer my experience and to help the team so that we can have a good tournament.”

More Trouble For CAF Boss Ahmad As Ladies Accuse Him Of Sexual Harassment

A public relations consultant from Mali, Mariam Diakite, has accused President of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Ahmad Ahmad of sexually harassing her.

Naija News reports that this is coming a day after he was released by the French Police on Friday.

Speaking to New York Times, Diakite, 34, said she was fired by Ahmad for rejecting his advances during a confrontation in a hotel suite during a conference she was hired to organise in Rabat, Morocco in 2017.
