1. Buhari To Host Lake Chad Security Summit

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday disclosed that he will be hosting leaders of the Lake Chad Basin Commission to a Security Summit on June 12 in Abuja. He made this known during a meeting with Chad President, Idris Deby in Makkah Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

2. Dino Melaye Declares Kogi Governorship Ambition

Senator Dino Melaye (PDP-Kogi West) has declared his intention to contest for the Kogi State Governorship election later this year. He made known while speaking at a meeting of leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ayetoro, Kogi State.

Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, on Friday, shot a yet-to-be-identified tricycle operator in the head in Aba. Naija News reports that the incident occurred during the evening hours of Friday, at Park Road/George’s Street, in Aba. a commercial city of Abia.

Senator Shehu Sani (PRP-Kaduna Central) has stated that there is no problem with President Muhammadu Buhari attending the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Saudi Arabia. Naija News had reported that Buhari had on Thursday arrived Makka, Saudi Arabia to attend the summit being hosted by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

7. Gunmen Set Ablaze, Kill 16 In Truck Ambush

Unidentified gunmen on Friday ambushed a cargo truck with passengers, killing 16 people on Tuesday in Macomia district in Mozambique’s northern province of Cabo Delgado. The attack occurred in the afternoon hours of the day when armed men came up from the woods and started firing sporadically at the vehicle.
