Tribunal Rules In Favour Of PDP Against APC In Abia

The 2019 Governorship Election petitions tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, southeast Nigeria, has dismissed the petition brought before it by Uche Ogah, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and four other respondents.

Justice A.L. Ogumoye, the chairman of the panel, dismissed the motion while ruling on a motion filed by Governor Ikpeazu through his legal team. The governor is the fourth respondent in the case.

Following his inauguration, President Muhammad Buhari is set to make key appointments into his kitchen cabinet and the federal executive council.

According to findings President Buhari may appoint any of the trio of Retired Col. Hameed Ali, current Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) outgone Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, or former Lagos State governor and outgone Minister of Works, Housing and Power, Babatunde Raji Fashola, as his new Chief of Staff.

Dogara Speaks On 9th Assembly Speakership Ambition

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has dismissed reports that he is planning to contest for the Speakership of the 9th National Assembly.

In a statement by his media aide, Turaki Hassan, Dogara said the clarification became necessary to distance the Speaker from the fake news being pushed and circulated by mischief makers and enemies of progress.
