Man Arrested With Electricity Cables

Operatives of the Lagos state Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have apprehended a middle-aged man for stealing electricity cables.

The cable thief, Peter Abah, 32, was arrested on Mobolaji Johnson Road, Ikeja, with the cables concealed inside a wheelbarrow.

The suspect, who was released from Badagry Prison in December 2018, after being convicted for stealing Solar Panels, told the police that he, along with two others, now at large, severed the cable from a newly installed transformer in the area.

Similarly, a duo was arrested in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 30.

Naija News reports that suspect identified as Sodiq Rasaq was apprehended alongside a motorcyclist who was also said to have accompanied Rasaq.

Rasaq in the company of an accomplice, Quadri Yusuph, had robbed a puff – puff seller around 5:00 a.m. and dispossessed him of N20,000.

The duo thereafter stabbed their victim with dagger, twice in the hand, when he challenged them. According to Ogbodo Chibuike, the victim, the duo had posed as if they wanted to buy a N200 worth of puff puff.

The suspect disclosed to the police that, that was their second operation for the day.
