1. FG Declares Public Holiday (See Dates)

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays to mark the Eid-Fitri Celebration. Naija News understands that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah, made this known on Friday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

2. PENGASSAN President Dies

The president of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), Francis Johnson, has died. Naija News gathered that Francis Johnson died in the early hours of Friday.

3. CJN Tanko Mohammed: Court Takes Decision On Age Falsification Suit

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out a suit alleging falsification of age levelled against Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Mohammed. A businessman, Tochi Michael, had alleged that the acting CJN falsified his age by reducing it by three years.

4. Shi’ites Set US, Israel ‘Symbols’ Ablaze

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shiites on Friday set ablaze the national flags of the US and Israel. The protesters burnt the national flags of the countries during a protest in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

5. 9th Reps Speaker: Trouble For Gbajabiamila As 195 Members-Elect Adopt Bago

No fewer than 195 members-elect of the House of Representatives have endorsed Mohammed Bago for the position of the Speaker of the House. Naija News understands that Bago, a third time member from Niger State, is contesting against the All Progressives Congress (APC), endorsed aspirant, Femi Gbajabiamila from Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial.

6. LG Funds: Federal High Court Approves NFIU Directive

A Federal High Court, Uyo, has approved the implementation of the guidelines on local government funds issued recently by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) despite a complaint by the state governors. Naija News recalls that the NFIU on May 6 issued the ‘Guidelines to Reduce Vulnerabilities Created by Cash Withdrawals from Local Government Funds throughout Nigeria.’

7. Benue State House Of Assembly Recalls All Suspended Members

Seven members of the Benue state house of Assembly, who were suspended last year July have welcomed back into the parliament. Naija News learnt that the lawmakers were recalled by there colleagues during plenary on Thursday.

8. JAMB Releases Withheld Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 4,536 withheld Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. Naija News learnt that the results were withheld for allegations of multiple identities of candidates and other infractions.

9. Mavin Records Jacks Back With ‘All Is In Order’

One of the foremost record labels in the Nigerian entertainment scene, Mavin records has dropped a banging video titled “All Is In Order.” Naija News reports that the video features the Stars in the record label which include; Don Jazzy, Rema, Korede Bello, DNA & Crayon.

10. Inter Milan Sign Antonio Conte

Inter Milan has confirmed the signing of former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to replace sacked manager Luciano Spaletti. The former Juventus and Italian National coach, is reported to have penned a three-year deal.
