Super Eagles Coach Arrives For Afcon Preparation

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has arrived Nigeria to kick-start the team’s preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye.

“The coach is around now and the preparation is on top gear. He looks very focused and determined for the team’s success in Egypt. Everything is working as planned and everything is set for camping in Asaba on Sunday,” he said.

“The coach will be in Asaba on Sunday likewise the players too. Majority of them are already in town and we are expecting successful camping.”

Super Eagles Afcon Camp Opens Sunday

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that the Super Eagles final preparations for the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations is set to begin on Sunday.

In a statement, NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire said that the preparations would begin when invited players, alongside the technical crew and administrative staff, start arriving in Asaba.

The NAN reports that Asaba hosted the 2018 Aiteo Cup finals and the international friendly between the Super Eagles and Uganda’s Cranes in November 2018.

Senegal Releases Africa Cup of Nations squad

Senegal have released a preliminary 25-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), with Sadio Mane the star of Cisse’s side.

Full Senegal squad:

Goalkeepers: Abdoulaye Diallo (Rennes, France), Alfred Gomis (SPAL, Italy), Edouard Mendy (Reims, France).

Defenders: Salif Sane (Schalke 04, Germany), Kalidou Koulibaly (Naples, Italy), Pope Abou Cisse (Olympiacos, Greece), Lamine Gassama (Goztepe, Turkey), Moussa Wague (Barcelona FC, Spain), Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux, France), Saliou Ciss (Valenciennes, France).
