1. Osun Governorship Election: Adeleke Wins In Court

Senator Ademola Adeleke was qualified to contest the September 2018 governorship election, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ruled today.

Recall that Justice Othman Musa of the High Court in Bwari, Abuja had voided Ademola Adeleke’s candidacy for 2018 Osun election, saying that he was not qualified to contest.

2. Buhari’s Former Minister Calls For Oshiomhole’s Resignation

Former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has called on the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, to resign.

The Deputy National Chairman of the party (North) Senator Lawal Shuaibu, had called for the resignation of Oshiomhole.

3. EFCC Speaks On Arrest Of Okorocha, Wife

The rumored reports on the arrest of the immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha by the Economic and Financial Crimes and Commission, (EFCC), has attracted the commission’s reaction.

Recall reports had emerged on Thursday that EFCC operatives had arrested Okorocha and his wife, Nkechi.

4. Court Grants Naira Marley N2 Million Bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, has granted Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, bail in the sum of N2 million.

At the resumption of bail application today, Olalekan Ojo, Naira Marley’s lead defense counsel, apologized for his absence at the initial arraignment on May 20 due to heavy down poor.

5. What Atiku’s Daughter Said About Her Time Working With APC

Dr Fatima Atiku, daughter of the 2019 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has spoken of her experience working with an APC governor.

6. Appeal Court Sacks Regina Daniels’ Ned Nwoko As PDP Senator-Elect

Regina Daniels‘ husband, Ned Nwoko, has been sacked by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Naija News understands that the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal nullified Nwoko’s emergence as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.

7. Oshiomhole: APC NEC Calls For Emergency Meeting

Elected members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have called for an urgent meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

Naija News recalls that the APC has been embroiled in crisis with senior party members calling for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

8. ‘Adeosun Had No Power To Suspend Gwarzo’, Court Orders Reinstatement Of SEC DG

Justice Sanusi Kado of the Industrial Court has ordered the reinstatement of Mounir Gwarzo, suspended director general of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The court also ordered that the federal government pay him all entitlements.

9. Imo New Speaker Resigns Few Days After Assuming Office

The newly elected Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Lawman Duruji, on Thursday, resigned 48 hours after assuming office.

Hon. Duruji had assumed office following the resignation of the former Speaker, Acho Ihim, and garnering 14 votes to beat his only rival, Chinedu Ofor (Onuimo), who got 11 votes.

10. Biafra: IPOB Holds Sit-At-Home In South-East States

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other pro-Biafra activists on Thursday, May 30, 2019, held a sit-at-home to honour their fallen heroes.

Naija News had reported earlier that IPOB declared May 30 as sit-at-home day throughout the Southeast referred to as “Biafraland” by pro-Biafra activists and Nigeria in remembrance of its fallen heroes and heroines.
