1. Appeal Court Sacks Regina Daniels’ Ned Nwoko As PDP Senator-Elect

Regina Daniels‘ husband, Ned Nwoko, has been sacked by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. Naija News understands that the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal nullified Nwoko’s emergence as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.

2. Imo New Speaker Resigns Few Days After Assuming Office

The newly elected Imo State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Lawman Duruji, on Thursday, resigned 48 hours after assuming office. Hon. Duruji had assumed office following the resignation of the former Speaker, Acho Ihim, and garnering 14 votes to beat his only rival, Chinedu Ofor (Onuimo), who got 11 votes.

3. Osun Governorship Election: Adeleke Wins In Court

Senator Ademola Adeleke was qualified to contest the September 2018 governorship election, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ruled today. Recall that Justice Othman Musa of the High Court in Bwari, Abuja had voided Ademola Adeleke’s candidacy for 2018 Osun election, saying that he was not qualified to contest.

4. New Governor Ihedioha Of Imo State Suspends All Financial Transactions

Newly sworn in Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State has started strong as he today, directed all financial Institutions to put on hold all withdrawals from any individual or groups either by cheques, transfers or in any form. A statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media, Steve Osuji, says the governor directed that no financial mandates, irrevocable Standing Payment Orders (ISPOs) or any form of financial instruction should be treated.

5. Fayose Welcomes Rochas Okorocha To ‘EFCC Alumni’

The immediate past governor of Ekiti state, southwest Nigeria, Ayodele Fayose, has welcomed Rochas Okorocha to ‘EFCC Alumni‘ in reaction to the purported arrest of the former Imo state Governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Naija News recalls that a report emerged earlier today alleging that Okorcha had been arrested by the anti-graft agency.
