1. President Muhammadu Buhari Inaugurated For Second Term

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday morning took the oath of office as Nigeria’s President.

Buhari who took the oath of allegiance today is to act in the capacity as President of Nigeria in piloting the affairs of the country.

2. Obasanjo, Others, Escape Plane Crash

Naija News understands former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday, escaped a plane crash.

Obasanjo and 393 others were aboard an Ethiopian Airlines plane it was learnt.

Recall as previously reported by Naija News, Obasanjo was part of other prominent dignitaries who missed the second term inauguration ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Eagle Square on Wednesday.

3. Multiple Explosions On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

At least five persons have been reported to have sustained varying degrees of injuries after a multiple vehicle explosion along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Naija News reports that the explosion was said to have involved a Mercedes Benz car and two tankers.

4. Seyi Makinde Declares Free Education In Oyo

The new Governor of Oyo State, southwest Nigeria, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, May 29, declared free education in public primary schools and public secondary schools in the state.

This was even as the Governor cancelled Development Levy paid by students across all the primary and Secondary schools in the state.

5. Emir Sanusi Shuns Gov Ganduje’s Swearing-In Ceremony

The Emir of Kano, his Highness Mohammadu Sanusi II has failed to show up at the inauguration ceremony of the governor despite a formal invitation.

Naija News recalls that the feud between the duo of Dr Ganduje and Emir Mahammadu Sanusi 11 has been lingering for sometimes leading to the Balkanisation of the Kano Emirate Council into four component units.

6. Buhari Fails To Give Inauguration Speech During Swearing-In Ceremony

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, May 29 took the oath of office signalling the commencement of his tenure as Nigeria’s President for a second term in office.

Naija News reports Buhari took the oath of allegiance, few minutes after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo took his at about 10; 30am at the Eagles Square in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

As President Muhammadu Buhari takes the oath of office as the leader of Nigeria for a second term in office on Wednesday, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians not to give in to despair.

8. Certificate Of Return: Court Set To Resume Proceedings On Okorocha’s Prayer

There may be hope for just signed out Governor, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State as the Court of Appeal, Abuja has ordered the prompt hearing of the suit he (Okorocha) filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Naija News recalls that Okorocha had filed a suit seeking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue him a certificate of return for Imo West senatorial seat.

9. Sanwo-Olu Sworn-In As Lagos State Governor

Babajide Sanwo-Olu has now emerged as the official and authentic Governor of Lagos state.

This is as the Lagos state Governor-elect was on Wednesday sworn-in as the 15th Governor of Lagos State at the Tarawa Balewa Square, TBS, on Lagos Island.

10. Oshiomhole ‘Disgraced’ During Buhari’s Inauguration

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was involved in a mild drama during President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration at the Eagle square on Wednesday.

Oshiomhole, who stood in-between Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, and service chiefs at the inauguration of the President was relocated.
