Nigerians React As PDP's Adeleke Wins Osun Governorship Election

Senator Ademola Adeleke was qualified to contest the September 2018 governorship election, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ruled today.

Recall that Justice Othman Musa of the High Court in Bwari, Abuja had voided Ademola Adeleke’s candidacy for 2018 Osun election, saying that he was not qualified to contest.

However, a three-man panel of the court had stated that it was absolutely wrong for the FCT to conclude that Adeleke didn’t finish his Secondary School education or that he tendered false educational requirement.

Justice Emmanuel Agim, upturned the High court judgment after he faulted the trial court for assuming that it had jurisdiction over the case which was filed by Wahab Raheem and Adam Habeeb outside the 14 days prescribed for pre-election cases by the Constitution.

Naija News recalls Adeleke was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2018 governorship election in Osun state.
