Second Term Inauguration Dinner

President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as several other former Nigerian leaders, were conspicuously missing at Wednesday night’s inauguration dinner.

The dinner was organised to celebrate President Buhari’s second term inauguration.

However, Naija News gathered former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon was present at the dinner which was held at the State House Banquet Hall.

Those expected but who missed the event include Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan and Gen Abdusalami Abubakar.

NAN reports that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, in his address, reiterated that Buhari’s inauguration signals the commencement of a new mandate given to him by Nigerians.

He added that the inauguration marked the “beginning of the journey to the Next Level to consolidate on the foundation laid in the last four years”.

Similarly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole in his toast, thanked Nigerians for their support and belief, saying the celebration was for all Nigerians.
