Former presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan are absent at Eagle Square in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital where President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo are taking Oath of office for their second term.
Naija News reports that the acting chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Muhammad, administered the oath of office on Buhari and Osinbajo, with their wives standing beside them.
Although the reason for the absence of the former Presidents are still unknown, the former Presidents were members of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and had earlier endorsed the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the PDP in the February general election.
