The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), says Zamfara state governor-elect, deputy governor-elect, Senators-elect and members of the House of Representatives-elect will their Certificates of Return on Monday, May 27.

Naija News understands that they will receive the certificates at the Commission’s Electoral Institute in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital by 2 pm.

Similarly, INEC revealed that members of the State Gouse of Assembly-elect will receive their certificates from the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) on Friday, May 31 at INEC State Office in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital by 10 am.

Meanwhile, Naija News reports that the development is coming after the Supreme court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Friday, May 24, dismissed an appeal challenging the nullification of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Zamfara state, northern Nigeria.

This online news platform understands that the apex court also voided all votes cast for the party during the general elections.

The five-member panel of justices, in a unanimous judgment, held that the APC in Zamfara state failed to conduct primaries in accordance with the party rules.

On Saturday, May 25, INEC declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, winner of the general elections held in Zamfara State following the ruling of the Supreme Court.
